Where is Van Long lagoon?

Van Long lagoon is located in Gia Van commune, Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province . Only 80km from Hanoi capital, Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve (Ninh Binh)  attracts a large number of tourists to visit and experience. 

Wetland ecosystems and forests on limestone mountains are the two main ecosystems in Van Long tourist area. In addition, other ecosystems can be mentioned such as fields, lawns, swidden fields, and villages. With an area of ​​​​nearly 3,500 hectares, Van Long lagoon is a place where animals, plants, aquatic animals live and grow. Including the white-breeded langur – a primate endemic to Vietnam that needs to be preserved.

 Van Long wetland is also home to 39 mammal species, 72 bird species, 32 reptile amphibious species, 44 fish species, 39 aquatic species and 79 insect species, many of which are listed in the Red Book Vietnam such as: king cobra, monitor lizard, chamois… In particular, Van Long was recognized by the Vietnam Record Book Center as “The place with the highest number of individuals of white shorts langurs” with over 100 individuals are in danger of global extinction. In the dry season (from November to April next year), Van Long becomes the wintering place of many migratory birds from the North such as Bonelli eagle, gray heron, great stork, stork, stork, etc. white stork, cauldron… This is also the concentration of 457 species of higher plants and 35 species of aquatic plants, of which 8 species are listed in the Vietnam Red Book, including flower slices, abstains, broadleaf clovers, and cores. troublesome, eager to walk, code money,
