Festival, also known as Ninh Binh Tourism Week, is an annual festival showcasing the breathtaking beauty of the golden rice fields in the Tam Coc – Bich Dong area of Ninh Binh Province. The festival usually takes place from late May to early June, coinciding with the time when the rice fields along the Ngo Dong River turn a brilliant golden yellow.

Festival Highlights:

Opening Ceremony: Held amidst the golden rice fields of Tam Coc, featuring traditional art performances, dragon dances and other cultural activities.

Ngo Dong River Boat Ride: Visitors can enjoy peaceful boat rides along the river, winding through golden rice fields and limestone mountains, offering picturesque views that are ideal for talking photos.

Cultural Exhibition: Displaying local handicrafts, traditional music performances such as cheo (traditional opera) and xam (busking), and water puppetry at Tam Coc Wharf.

Artistic rice fields: Unique artworks created in rice fields, such as ” The Shepherd Playing the Flute”, inspired by Dong Ho folk paintings, bring a harmonious combination of agriculture and art.

Goat fighting competition: A traditonal activity that adds to the excitement of the festival, reflecting local customs and entertainment.

Transportation: Tam Coc is about 110km from Hanoi, you can get there by car, motorbike or limousine service.
